Kglow came out with a sudden suggestion to have a countdown celebration party at my home last week... and yea, he really mean it! lolz...

Well, the party supposed to start at 7.30pm but people started to show up at bout 8.30pm... Punctuality doesn't work effectively enough among youngsters nowadays especially in Malaysia xp.. and the food were only ready at bout 10pm... (Thanks to kglow & ChonSenn for helping out) everyone were so hungry... LOL

Tonight will be attending church watching a Christmas concert with my relatives.

I'm so excited that i can't wait till January 21st... hahaha

will be leaving to Taiwan in another couple more weeks for holiday!!!

3 More to go!!! 3 More to go!!! Looking forward to October's semester BREAK!!! Wondering why is it so slow...

But when comes the night before the exam, i wish i could have another extra 1 day... Wondering why is it so fast...My housemates said I wasn't stressed at all, is it true? I am not sure. I tried my best to study, however those lecture notes and slides are hypnotizing me! It's just like taking sleeping pills and then forcing myself to stay awake. Arrh... The other day Amelia asked me a qustion...

Amelia: What time you woke up this morning?

Me: Err... which one are you asking? (I woke up so many times that i couldn't even remember when and which is she referring to...lol)

Maybe I should change a different way of studying. When I looked through my lecture slides compared to others, its just as clean as new. What have I done for the past 14 weeks during lecture classes...

My mom just bought herself a new Medallion Grey colored Perodua Myvi... and the Kia Spectra is now 'waris' to my sister. I remain my 2nd hand Proton Saga, lol... well, a car is just a car, at least i still own a transport that brings me to my destinations and I am satisfied.

On August 29th, Saturday, my cousin, sis and I went to The Loaf in Pavilion. She kept asking us to try out the bread and pastries. Now here we are...

Now, I am back in Kampar town again. I missed the August sales... it was the last day of August, the only thing i bought was a PDI belt for RM39 without any discount given. Only 20% discount given when purchase of 2nd item... -.-'' I wanted a polo-T as the 2nd item which cost about RM60, but my wallet left less than RM80 and I was rushing back home that time and therefore I gave up, kind of regret now. Perhaps i shall wait for the next sales. I miss KL life...

Next Friday is my first paper for Finals.... OMG!OMG!OMG!

Its been freaking long time i did not update my blog...

I had great times with my U-mates in Kampar after we finished our midterms, assignments and presentations. We went karaoke and we also had BBQ on August 13th 2009... It's the 2nd time we had BBQ with current classmates.

I was then fell sick after the following week, probably caused by the unpredictable bad weather and partly the virus spread among students i guess. I had slight headache, sore throat and a very bad flu... i was so afraid that i could be the next victim of H1N1... Of course i put extra caution on my health, make sure that i eat well and not getting worse.

I was getting better and yesterday i even agreed to help my friend as a helper in his Chinese society's activity. Everything went quite smoothly as planned, most important is everyone enjoyed and had fun. Everyone was exhausted especially committee members and helpers because we had to come as early at 7.30am and leave at around 6.30pm to clean up the mess.

Today, after had my dinner at around 7pm, I came back home and went to check my hand phone to see if there were any missed calls or messages which i left it charging before i went out.

I was extremely shock when i saw my sister's sms content - an unexpected unfortunate things happened. The sms was regarding my mum admitted to hospital because she was confirmed diagnosed H1N1, influenza A virus. I stunted a moment and immediately called up my mum... to find out her condition. She sounded very tired and was suffering with serious migraine headache. My heart felt ache suddenly can't do anything but to ask her relax and take more rest... Please stay strong Mum~

God... Please give her strength and energy to fight against the virus. Bless her and let her recover fast... Thank you Lord in Jesus name i pray, Amen.

What I Did This Few Weeks

Haven't been blogging lately this few weeks due to my busyness + laziness. Busy in the sense of preparing for my mid-term, doing assignment and presentation... but stands higher percentage facebooking, watching dramas and day dreaming... LOLzz...

Well here's a summary of what i did for the past few weeks...

Last weekend... attended the Malaysia Festival of the Mind officiated by Y.A.B. Tan Sri Dato' Haji Muhyiddin, the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Education Malaysia at Utar Perak Campus on 10th-12th July 2009. However i didn't get to see him there... i attended a few interesting talk such as Developing Openess to New Ideas for Enhancing Creative Thinking(quite fun), speed & Range Reading(a bit bored) & Self Hypnosis (didn't work on me)...

This is the real human being face preserved and waxed, i was told that the human body was bought from India back to Malaysia for experiment... and surprisingly everyone is allowed to touch...

Look... i was holding the real human brain on my bare hands... omg

The food guide pyramid... of course a healthy and balance diet is important...

In the evening I went to the Kampar Waterfall(previous post) again for the 2nd time... with my whole housemates...

On July 17th, we gave a little surprise to cute Kah Wai on her Birthday...

Bored of eating mousse and fruit cake... so a little bit different this time... bought an ice-cream cake, Yam flavored ice-cream...

For this weekend(yesterday evening)... Yea yea, Kampar Waterfall again!!! LOLz... for the 3rd time... but this time i went with some of my classmates... the water was a bit shallow compared to the previous time i came cause Kampar havent been raining lately. Lucikily it did not rain, otherwise it would be very dangerous! Jason and I went deep back here and discovered this place... its really beautiful and very deep too. I jumped in and my feet couldnt even touch the ground...

The sky was getting darker and we left about 7.30pm... Jason, Natalie and I then stopped by at old town Fook Kee Restaurant famous for its claypot chicken rice for dinner... just right next to Watson... its taste really good... 2 thumbs up!!!

Hmm... this coming week is another super busy week for me... never ending assignments, mid terms and presetations!!! *Sigh*...

Air Terjun Batu Berangkai (Waterfall) @ Kampar

Who said Kampar is a boring town??? lolz... Maybe its not as fun like in KL city where you get to go shopping centers or cinemas and get to see tall tall buildings... However, Kampar is a place where you get to enjoy beautiful nature scenery. During the weekend i finally made myself walk all the way up to the Kampar waterfall...

Warning: Be extra careful when driving up there cause the only road to the waterfall is a single lane where cars are driving up and down using this the only road, just enough to fit a car... I chose not to drive up, so I parked down the hill and it took me bout 30 minutes to walk slowly up there...

Isn't that a beautiful waterfall, the chilly wind up there was great... 'How GOD creates such beautiful Waterfall' quoted by Amelia.

Went further in here... and saw the crowd here were all men... not even a single girl up here, except for Amelia behind me... hehe... not sure what are they doing... looks like a small Gay Paradise... LOLzzz.....

Yea Yea... got back my car finally... It cost me RM 240 this time:

RM50 for Tangki (Water Radiator)

hmm... i didnt made any mistakes on that simple calculation... The Tauke(Boss) gave me RM5 discount, hehehe... better than nothing.

Hopefully it don't give me anymore problems again. Have been repairing my car for countless times lately... Geez... im soon gonna broke if this happen again... (anyway my mum is the one who did the payment) LOL...

By the way, thanks to Ah Lim accompanied me to take bus to Tapah then to switch bus to Bidor. After collecting my car and made cash payment, we drove to this shop named 'Pun Chun' for its famous Duck Noodle and some other delicious biscuits. The Herbal soup was flavorful and the duck meat was tendered too...

And i bought these biscuits as 'buah tangan' for my housemates...

Well gotta take bath now... need to prepare and discuss the tutorial question for a short mob presentation tomorrow morning. Ciao for now~

A Talk by a Taiwanese Ph.D.

My alarm rang continually early in the morning at 5am... i felt reluctant to wake up especially when i do not have any classes on Saturday. I went to take a bath and the icy cold water showered on me freezing me and kept me awake.

The reason i woke up so early is because i was asked to attend a talk in KL, as a class representative i had no choice... The moment i reached Block A where we were supposed to gather there at 6am, i was surprised to see only few students were there... and i get to know that only 20 students are in the list, somehow 2 of them didn't show up.

The talk is about the Economic Crisis in Chinese-medium by a Taiwanese Ph.D. organized by MCA... and it actually required an entry ticket which cost RM50 each(we did not pay for that of cause)...

Breakfast were provided... Sandwiches, curry puff and some kuih... i find the egg sandwich very weird, some kinda smell... Geezz...
Students from UTAR(PJ campus) and KTAR attended the talk too, but only we all from Perak campus wore the Utar t-shirt... swt-.-'''

The slides looks familiar... i learnt that in my Finance during foundation, the only difference was that the slides were in Chinese...

Pretend as if i was so passionate... trying to jot down some notes but... my mind were somewhere else. What to do... i just find it damn bored. hmm... How am i gonna start a business?

After the talk ended... We headed to KLCC, just a couple of blocks away to have lunch. I had my Fettucine Carbonara... I was so fascinated when i first saw this... it's nice and just enough to fill up my tummy.
and Ying Ying had her spaghetti...

so that's all for today... and i reached Kampar at bout 5pm... tired and sleepy~~

Say NO to Dog Abuse!!!

This idea came across my mind when...

Last few months, there was a stray dog came into our house in Kampar out of nowhere... and it enjoyed living here and accepted us(housemates) as its owner. Few months later, we weren't in Kampar for bout 3 weeks... and the moment i reached back here, i found the dog that used to hide at the corner of my house's garage went missing!

Wasn't surprised at all at first... cause it might had went away looking for food or perhaps accepted somebody else as its owner... Later on, we heard our neighbour saying that the dog was beaten to death using a stick... Gosh... What a cruel act to that poor cute little pity dog~~

Hopefully its now enjoying in its Heaven of Dogs!

STOP THE CRUELTY TO ANIMALS!!! Dogs are Men's best friend.

Momo Cafe Steamboat in Ipoh

Yesterday after 3pm class, went to Ipoh to have Steamboat(Momo Cafe) for dinner with classmates as well as to celebrate Lim & KC's Birthday...

Before that we went to Ipoh Parade and had a mini bowling tournament among us... 4 vs 4. Johnson the noob(not bad for his first time) was in our team... we lost to the other boys the 1st round and were punished to do 10 push-ups on the spot. For the second match, they suggested for 20 push-ups for whichever team lost and it's our time for revenge... They were over confident that they underestimated us.... Too bad they were too happy to laugh at us at the beginning and they ended up losing towards the end... lolz... There goes their punishment~~!!!

Next, it's time to regain our energy after some light workout... Momo buffet style Steamboat, allows you to order from the menu which you do not have to get up and take yourself.

Momo Steamboat uses electronic stove... and you get to choose 2 types out of 8 different types of soup base.

Various types of drinks such as Lime, Honey Lemon, Laici, Chinese Tea, Orange Juice and so on...

Imported Beef Sliced is definitely the top favourite among us... just dip into the boiling soup a few seconds and its ready to be eaten.

This is my favourite dish... Grilled Lamb Cube, it tasted perfect for me... I would like another dish please~~ For fried and grilled food, you will need to order and they will served you in short minutes... and is unreturnable once ordered.

We had enough of Fried rice... Johnson ordered bout 4-5 plates wrongly and we had left no choice but to help him finish... otherwise we will have to pay RM10 for every 1kg of wastage...

Lata Kinjang Waterfall - Chenderiang, Perak

Our Saturday class has brought forward to Thursday, so yesterday was a free Saturday... Jason asked me a day before whether there are any plan of activities for Saturday... and in Kampar, obviously there are nothing much to do.

Then i went on to internet to search for some interesting places in Perak and found out that there are still so many more places waiting for us to be explored... Instead of Ipoh that we always go, we finally came out an idea of going to a beautiful nature place - Lata Kinjang Waterfall located at Chenderiang(about 20 minutes from Tapah). A slow drive from Kampar that took us less than 30 minutes to arrive...

Since its a last minute plan, most of my classmates went back on weekends... and we insisted to carry on with our trip. Can't stand the weather in Kampar anymore~ Reached there bout 12noon, just to avoid the weekend crowd.

There are few stalls selling deep-fried food along the way outside...

After spending few hours enjoying up there, we then went down for a change. Surprisingly, there were so much crowded down here, and we chose to stay on for a little while and left to find fooooood~

UTAR bicycles Exibition???

UTAR (Perak Campus) is getting more and more crowded... every year the amount of students are growing tremendously... epescially during May intakes. The moment when i reached to Kampar this begining semester, i was shocked~ Kampar traffic jammed?? hahaha... and cycling is also very common and essential over here if you do not have your own transports, otherwise you will have to wait for the Utar bus and might get sandwiched inside~ btw the bicycles are selling at the price range between RM210-RM400 depends on the quality you want...

When i passed by block A, i was surprised to see such scene which i never seen that many amount of bicycles before. I guess... Utar is the only university in Malaysia you get to see so many students cycle to class. Most people might think that's a great way to exercise... however do you know that cycling to afternoon classes especially under flaming hot weather in Kampar lately is very suffering(most girls are complaining)...

And also remember to lock your bicycles...!!! Lately there are many cases about lost bicycles who left their bicycles unlock outside their house... my room mate was one of the victims, his bicycle was stolen few days ago... and now he's using mine.

Last semester, one of my classmates lost her bicycle too and the funniest part was that she went to lodge a police report and guess what? The policeman told her "how much is your bicycle, i'll pay you for that"... swt >.<'' How the heck are they going to search for your bicycle? rotfl...

Shogun Japanese Buffet @ 1 Utama

Yesterday was indeed a very special and memorable day for my mom and sis... 5th of June - it's their Birthday~~!!! My aunt insisted to celebrate my sis 18th birthday~ so she recommended us to Shogun Japanese Buffet Restaurant which is having 50% promotion!!! ...and its also the last day of promotion~ My aunt called to make reservation, unfortunately it was fully booked and only 6 tables were left for walk in guest...

Birthday presents are prepared for beloved mom and sis~ and the chocolates in the front row are for my relatives(My mom bought it)~ so Everyone gets a present including me... hehehe...
Since only 6 tables were left for walk in guest, we really don't wanna missed this opportunity and we went there soooo early at bout 9 something am that most of the shops were still close, we were the first guest... lolz Later on, more people starting to appear... and few hours later... Look at the queue so many people!!! Then, there were weird annoying people trying ways to jump queue... first was an old man asking if they could joined our table with his family(and they were here the previous day)... why not give chances to other people? and since you came previous day, you should know the crowd so come early la... Second was a man trying to jump queue behind us saying that he reached very early but *blablabla*... WOW~~ This man *tells lie without blinking his eyes* we came so early and we didnt see this man before... the girls behind us went on quarreled with him~@$#%^$&@
After waited for so long, we finally got our service number~1oo1 (the first customer) at 11.32am.
At 12pm we went back and there were still so many people queuing up. The Staff called out the number and we went in with relief. My relatives joined us after that, they were lucky they don't have to queue up. The next thing to do... Get our food!!! so hungry la...

Was a bit blur blur today~~

A call from my sis to fetch her from KTM station in Serdang, and i drove all the way to her school in KL to pick her... waited for quite some times, then she called up again to ask where was i after waiting for so long... hmm... both of us waited for nothing... =.=|| ... its time to clean my pair of ears!!!

Her tone of voice started to change... oops... no choice still have to wait, immediately, rushed back to Serdang KTM to fetch her... Arrived after bout 15-20 minutes...

Since The Mines shopping center is just around the corner... so dropped by to have 'lundin' (Lunch + Dinner) there. Bored of eating KFC, McD... so went to Subway to have something light... SANDWICHES... we get to choose our own sandwich bread, toppings and types of sauce... they also have their daily special menu..

Home Made Glutinous Rice Dumplings

During the weekends last week, my aunt suggested to make 'Bak Zhang' (Pork Dumpling) and 'Nyonya Zhang' (Nyonya Dumpling)... so invited my mum and my grandma to her house to make together. Everything was quite in a rush, the ingredients were supposed to prepared few days earlier including soaking the bamboo leaves, soaking the glutinous rice and so on... instead they did it on that day... but then they manage to prepare all the ingredients in time.

All the ingredients were well prepared and put together.

The Bright Blue color glutinous rice. Well, its obviously does not looks like the natural color squeezed from Bunga Telang. My aunt seems to find out that the Bunga Telang is not enough for that amount of rice, so she went out to buy artificial coloring and mixed together. Weird isn't it...??

The plain white glutinous rice. Nothing special...

The special nyonya pork fillings. It tasted a bit salty and sweet...

The pandan leaves which gonna place into every dumpling to add some fragrance... i think

And also not forgetting the bamboo leaves which have soaked for some times... but its still not soft enough.

When comes to wrapping... my grandma will never feels stingy to stuff a lot of fillings inside. Everything is double... lolz...

My grandma is very good at wrapping these dumplings... and she kept mentioning how great is her skills and techniques... my aunt was a bit quiet impatient when wrapping it.

After the dumplings were wrapped and tied with hemp strings, the next step is to boil it. My mum's charcoal stove was finally in use after keeping it for many years.

We brought it back home and steamed it the next day in a Kuali for bout 10 minutes...

Look at the size of the Bak Zhang (Pork Glutinous Dumpling)... so huge!!!

After the Bamboo leaves were removed...

Take a peek... the inside part. This Bak Zhang most probably wrapped by my grandma, hahahaha... why said so? look at the fillings!!!... 2 chestnuts, bout 3 slices of mushrooms, 2-3 pieces of pork, 2 half salted duck egg yolks...!!!

This is Nyonya Zhang (Nyonya Glutinous Dumpling)... slightly smaller size than the Bak Zhang.

T.G.I. FRIDAY'S 2 Course Meal

Went to KL with my cousin this afternoon... we were so hungry but still we desperately trying to look for something special for lunch. At first we thought of trying Papa John's Pizza in Berjaya Timesquare... but then i don't find it attractive enough... so we walked to Sg. Wang and Pavilion to find out more. When we reached Pavilion, it was about 3pm, and then it started to rain... so we were left no choice but to settle our meal here... and we made our final decision to eat at T.G.I. Friday's!!!

We ordered a cup of Green Apple Slush and a cup of Orange Blast Slush Which Cost RM8.90 each. A mixture with lemon-lime soda.

We both ordered 2-course meal since its only for RM 29.90 which includes an appetizer and an entree meal. My cousin ordered Boneless Wings & Tuscan Chicken Melt:

For me, I chose Fried Mac & Cheese as appetizer and Sizzling Chicken & Cheese as entree... cheese, cheese, cheese.... lolz... i love cheese!!! Though it's fattening, but we should pamper ourselves once in a while. We both ordered different variety of meal, so that we could try on each other's.

Sizzling Chicken & Cheese

The chicken meat was a bit hard, but it taste delicious with black paper. The cheese melted on the sizzling pan taste good too.

We were so full that we did not manage to finish all our food. We asked for the bill and was bout RM 90. Later on at night i went to Sri Murni mamak located at PJ SS2 with few buddies, another hot spot for nightlife. Hmmm... soon, I will be putting on tons of weight in no time.... lolz...

Feeling to eat something COOL sometimes especially such HOT weather in Malaysia and since mangoes are in season... so i guess Mango with Grass Jelly/Cincau will be my best choice!!! Moreover it is so easy to make:)

MANGO WITH CINCAU

Ingredients:

2 Mangoes
300gram of Grass Jelly/Cincau (lychee or mango flavored are recommended, depends on individual preferences)

Methods:

Diced Mango and Grass Jelly/Cincau
Mix well and chill in refrigerator before serving

Isn't that easy??

Remembering once i'd been to a restaurant selling this mango with cincau dessert, it was so expensive which cost about RM6 for a small bowl and i bought 2kg of mangoes for only RM5(about 8 mangoes) at pasar malam near my house which i think i can make bout 4-6 bowls.

its PARTY TIME... everyone is on holiday mood...
afta karaoke... we plan to make steamboat for dinner
we went straight to tesco to buy stuff....
only 4 of us... 3 gals and me... and we bought quite a lot...

The sausage with cheese and dumplings are my favourite too....

Relief~~
today... had my last paper 'Entrepreneurship'
Finally my final exam are over!!! wahahahaha... hvent been sleeping much this few weeks, jz dun feel peace sleeping during these time...

yesterday nite...
we planed to celebrate Patrick's burfday(14th May) in advance
since he is going bck home the next day afta his exam.
though both of us still hving exam the next day!!!

We gave him a little surprise...

Kampar Hotel Set Lunch Promotion

Woke up this morning at bout 11.45am, then we went to Grand Kampar Hotel for lunch as planned yesterday night. This promotion is only valid from 16th of March till 16th of April 2009 at 11am to 3pm (Mon-Fri).

When we entered the restaurant, i saw most of the customers were Utar staff and students. I think thats shud be their main target of customers. hehehe...

There are 70 different choices of set lunch in their menus. Our table ordered 3 Sets of Golden Butter Fish and 2 sets of Golden Butter Chicken. The set lunch also includes a cup of tea and soup. They served us ABC soup, only carrot and raddish.... ;[

The service here are quite slow, cant imagine if there are more customers. The environment here is not bad ,air conditioned and nice music. We waited for quite some time, finally the food arrived...

This aftanoon afta finished my English Lecture class
I went to the canteen with my classmates to have some bite
I bought an ice-cream and sat at a table facing the lake
I was enjoying the beautiful scenery of the lake while having my 'CRUNCH' ice-cream
Later then i felt something dropped or thrown on my back
Automatically i turned back to see if someone touched me

And to my surprise......

There were 2 droppings on the back of my t-shirt
OMG~~ BIRD SHIT!!!
I looked at my friends at shocked
And they were wondering what happened
I told them and they burst out laughing... LOL...
I was so so so unfortunate as
Out of so many people in the canteen, why does it has to be me??
I quickly got up and went to the rest room
With the help of my friend, my t-shirt was cleaned

However i could still feel the stain on my back

Afta enjoying my weekend at home in KL, its time to come back to Kampar... :( a small boring town with not much entertainment and i gotta prepare for tmw's tutorial. The good news is my house mates will be preparing dinner and by the time we come back home we are able eat. hehehehe...

Afta taking dinner... a fren called to invite us to celebrate Leong's 23rd Birthday. We gave him a little surprise by going to his house to celebrate without his knowledge... this was his birthday cake with additional strawberries which one of his house mates bought it from Cameron Highlands.

Home Made 'Chiu Chu Kueh'~~

At last, i finished all my mid-terms, assignments and presentations... Out of a sudden i feel like coming back home:)... think bout it, havent come back since chinese new year... miss my mum & sis!!! hahaha... so i bought Edaran bus ticket departing @ 5.30pm and reached KL bout 8pm yesterday. Afta tat, went up to Metrobus no.8 waited for bout half an hour, the bus driver only decided to start the journey~~ waited damn long, so tired!!! By the time i reached home is edy 10pm.

This Morning afta taking brunch, my mum decided to make 'Chiu Chu Kuih'... also known as Bingka Ubi which is Baked Tapioca Cake. It is considered as one of the famous nyonya(Peranakan) kuih. This is how it looks after steamed:

Usually, the inside part that we see at hawker stalls is yellow color with brown crust on the top, but my mum mixed some Gula Melaka to make it brown and also she did not bake it... therefore this is how it looks like. The appearance might not look very nice, but once you put it in your mouth you would ask for more... hahaha...

And Finally...... my mum covered up the kuih with desiccated coconut mixed with a little pinch of salt and now it is ready to be served...:)

Isn't it looks nicer and tastier when covered with desiccated coconut... lol...
